Environment and Infrastructure
The climate crisis is an existential threat and one of the biggest issues of our time. Despite deserving our immediate and undivided attention, this issue is often ignored or addressed too little too late by democrats or even worse exacerbated by republicans kowtowing to Big Oil and Fossil Fuel interests. As the only intelligent life, Cory believes we have a duty to be stewards to Mother Earth and shepherd a policy of coexistence and sustainability with our environment. This responsibility doesn’t have to be zero-sum game where we are making sacrifices against a struggling economy – done right Climate Policy can be an opportunity that rebuilds our infrastructure, guarantees our water and air is clean, and provides an economic boost to our society.
Green New Deal and Civil Climate Corps
Cory supports the Green New Deal, including the creation of a Civil Climate Corps to create millions of good-paying jobs that will ensure a speedy and sustainable transition to renewable energy. Just like Oil and Gas used to be, Renewables are a massive emerging market of the future and we shouldn’t cede this potential growth to China or any other power to be the sole benefactor selling renewable goods to Europe and the developing world.
Modern Renewable Infrastructure and Public Transit
In congress, Cory will advocate for building a modern national high-speed rail network and he will cosponsor legislation to acquire electric buses and other vehicles to cut down on costs, reduce emissions, and make public transit without a personal vehicle more accessible. He will cosponsor legislation to support the investment in and building of solar panels, wind turbines, and other alternative clean sources of energy.
Water for All
Fresh water makes up less than 3% of the world's water resources and yet it is a vital resource we make abundant use of. Most of us have monthly water bills we must pay that are getting progressively more expensive as Agriculture and AI datacenters compete for the resource as well. Such a water scarcity future need not be an inevitability, the fact is we mostly have a salt problem, not a water problem. Cory believes in the modern year of 2026 nobody should have to pay a bill, much less an exorbitant one, for one of the basic necessities of life. He also believes that if we build the proper infrastructure, we’ll be able to phase out this expense altogether. Cory will introduce legislation to promote the building of modern Water Desalination Plants to keep this precious resource plentiful and cheap, if not eventually free altogether.
